"You are not authorized to access the directory" in Sage 100

Summary

“You are not authorized to access the directory” message appears when attempting to change the Positive Pay Export file location on Sage 100 Advanced or Premium

Cause

  • Windows permissions to the path are insufficient for the Log On account running the Sage 100 service.
  • The Sage 100 Service Log On is Local System and not a Domain Administrator or service account.

Resolution

  • Verify that the Sage 100 host service is not running as Local System, change it to a Domain Administrator or similar service account with all users out, and restart it.
  • Verify that the account being used for the Log On has Full Control permissions for the desired export directory.
