Unable to Kill Tasks in Master Console

The Kill Selected Task button in Master Console does not end a selected orphaned or stranded task in Sage 100
Resolution
Possible Resolutions:
Verify that the Sage 100 User Logon is assigned a Role with permissions to terminate tasks:
- Open Library Master, Main menu, Role Maintenance
- For Role, select the appropriate role that should hold the required permission
- Access the Security Events tab
- Expand Library Master
- Select (check) the checkbox option: “Allow Users to Terminate Tasks in Master Console”
- Click Accept to save changes.
- Open Library Master, Main menu, User Maintenance
- For User Logon, select the user designated to receive the role
- Access the Maintenance tab
- Verify or select the company (or all companies) and the role
- Click Accept to save changes.
Workstation console and session files may be corrupt. Try replacing these files:
- Have all users log out of Sage 100.
Note: For Sage 100 Advanced or Premium editions, also stop the Application or Service. - Via File Explorer (Windows Explorer), access the live “..\MAS90\MAS_System” directory on the server where Sage 100 is installed.
- Find and Rename the SY_Console.m4t and SY_Workstation.m4t files
- Allow users to log back into Sage 100. These two files should be recreated by first person to access the installation.
- Note: For Sage 100 Advanced or Premium editions, first restart the Application or Service
End processes that may be locked via Windows Task Manager:
- Have all users log out of Sage 100.
- Note: For Sage 100 Advanced or Premium editions, also stop the Application or Service.
- Open Windows Task Manager at the server running Sage 100
- Access the Processes tab
- Highlight each instance of Pvxwin32.exe that is running, then click End Process button and confirm.
- Note: Other programs that use Pvxwin32.exe may also be running, so they should be stopped first as well, to prevent ungraceful exit or termination of vital programs.

For Sage 100 Advanced, when run as an Application, try selecting the “Spawn Tasks from Application Server” option for each user:
- 1. For User Logon, select the user
2. Access the Preferences tab
3. Select (check) the checkbox option: “Spawn Tasks from Application Server”
4. Click Accept to save changes.
