Resolution
Note: Tracing or Debug log files can become very large, very quickly. Only enable Tracing or Debug if there is a specific, well-defined reason to do so.
To set up and enable or disable Tracing for DSNs:
- Use Windows Explorer to access the ODBC Data Source Administrator for the User DSN (such as SOTAMAS90):
- If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to
access: “C:\Windows\SysWOW64” - If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 64-bit. OR, if the Windows
operating system is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to access: “C:\Windows\System32”
- If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to
- Right-click odbcad32.exe to reveal a right-click context menu
- Select Run as administrator to open ODBC Data Source Administrator
- Access the User DSN tab
- Select SOTAMAS90 (or another desired DSN)
- Access the Tracing tab
- Verify and note the Log File Path, or click Browse.. to change it
- Click the Start Tracing Now button to start tracing.
- If tracing is currently started and it is not desired, click the Stop Tracing Now button to stop tracing.
- Click OK to exit ODBC Data Source Administrator
To set up and enable or disable Debug log for the SOTAMAS90 DSN (a feature of this specific DSN):
- Use Windows Explorer to access the ODBC Data Source Administrator for the SOTAMAS90 User DSN:
- If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to
access: “C:\Windows\SysWOW64” - If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 64-bit. OR, if the Windows
operating system is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to access: “C:\Windows\System32”
- If the Windows operating system is 64-bit and the DSN is 32-bit, use Windows Explorer to
- Right-click odbcad32.exe to reveal a right-click context menu
- Select Run as administrator to open ODBC Data Source Administrator
- Access the User DSN tab
- Select SOTAMAS90 (or another desired DSN)
- Click the Configure button to access ProvideX ODBC Driver Setup
- Access the Debug tab
- Select (check) the Enable Debug checkbox
vVerify and note the Log File name, or click Browse.. to change the path and name. - If debug is currently enabled and it is not desired, then deselect (uncheck) the Enable Debug checkbox to stop debug logging.
- Click OK to exit ProvideX ODBC Driver Setup
- Click OK to exit ODBC Data Source Administrator
