How to set up outside processing in Work Order
Resolution
- Select Work Order, Setup, Work Center Maintenance
- Define the work center, and select the Outside Processing Work Center check box
- Select Work Order, Setup, Operation Code Maintenance
- Click Lookup for Work Center, and select the work center code representing the work center to add or maintain
- Click Lookup for Operation Code, and enter the operation code representing the operation to assign to the specified work center.
- In the Run Time Format list box, type or select the appropriate format:
- Hours/Operation calculates operation run time in terms of hours per operation. Select this option if it takes more than an hour to complete one operation.
- Lot calculates operation run time as a fixed amount of time per lot (for example, a setup operation). Select this option if an operation always takes a fixed amount of time.
- Operations/Hour calculates operation run time in terms of operations per hour. Select this option if more than one operation per hour is completed.
- Enter the appropriate Rate/Hour and Rate/Piece for both Planned Cost and Planned Cost Divisor fields.
- The cost is in relation to the parent For example, if the planned cost rate is typically $1.50 per 1000 pieces, you would enter the planned cost rate as 1.50 per piece and a planned cost divisor of 1000. This applies $0.0015 per piece when the operation is processed.
