How to Restrict User Access in Zoho Projects

In Zoho Projects, you can restrict user access to only specific projects. Here’s how:

1. Log into Zoho Projects as an Admin user. You’ll need admin privileges to grant and remove user access to specific projects.
2. Before proceeding, please ensure that you have at least one of each of the following:
   1. A user that you’d like to grant/deny project access to
   2. The project to grant that user access to
   3. A project to deny that user access toIn this example, we have a user called Test 1. We are going to grant Test 1 access to projected titled “Test 1 Project”, and deny them access to the project titled “Test 2 Project”.
3. Next, click on Setup in the top right corner.
4.  Then, select Manage Users in the left side bar > Portal Users.
5. In the Portal Users page, you can see that we are logged in under the Admin account, Acute Data Systems, and there is one other employee called Test 1.
6. After that, click on Add User.
7. From this page, you can assign a project to an existing user by selecting the user’s name under Choose Users, and checking off the project(s) you want to grant that user access to. However, for our example, we already have an existing user called Test 1, and we’d like to change their project access. Click Cancel.
8. Once you click Cancel, you’ll see list of all the users. Hover over the user you’d like to restrict project access for and click Edit.
9. A new window will pop-up. On this screen, you can:
   1. Change the user’s Role
   2. Update the user’s Profile
   3. Alter the user’s project access
10. Finally, select Update to save changes.
11. And you’re done!
12. Let’s double-check that the Test 1 user has access to the Test 1 project, but not the Test 2 project.If you know the Test 1 user’s login credentials, you can log into Zoho Projects as the Test 1 user, or you can open up  (a) an incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N) in Google Chrome, or (b) a window in a new browser, and log in.Here, I am logged in as user Test 1, and the only project that I see is the one that the Admin user granted me access to: the Test 1 Project.
