How to Reinitialize General Journal Entry files in Sage 100
Resolution
CAUTION: Use caution when working with the below product functionality. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage business partner, network administrator, or Sage customer support analyst.
- Expand Modules, Library Master, Utilities menu, Reinitialize Data Files
- Select applicable Company Code from lookup
- Select General Ledger from Module drop down list
- Select the following files (ONLY) to erase:
- GL_GeneralJournalHeader.m4t
- GL_GeneralJournalDetail.m4t
- GL_GeneralJournalRestart.m4t
- Click Proceed
If Batch Processing is enabled for General Journal Entry in General Ledger Options, then the active batch records for G/L General Journal Entry will also have to be manually deleted using the Data File Display and Maintenance Utility:
- Expand Modules, Library Master, Utilities menu, Reinitialize Data Files
- Select “Yes” at the warning prompt that ends with: “This utility should only be used under the direction of a Customer Support Representative”
- For File Name, click the Browse/Open (folder icon) button to access the “..\MAS90\MAS_XXX\GLXXX” (“XXX” is the company code) where General Ledger data files for the company are stored
- Select the GL_CompanyActiveBatch.m4t data file and click Open
- Click the Key Scan (magnifying glass icon) button to see a list of existing open batches in data entry for all application modules (not just G/L).
- Find and Delete all individual records in this GL_CompanyActiveBatch.m4t data file that have a ModuleCode “GL” and BatchType “01“
