Summary
To use payroll with Sage 300, follow the steps in the Resolution section of this article to:
- Download the appropriate payroll update.
- Install the payroll update on the server and/or workstation (if programs are installed locally).
- Activate the payroll update in the appropriate database.

Resolution
A. Preparation
Before Installing the new version of the payroll update, create a full backup of your database.
B. Download
Click on the “Direct Download” link for your new version of payroll in the Related resources section of this article. Save the appropriate .exe to a temporary folder that is accessible from the server and workstations (if programs are installed locally).
C. Install
- Ensure all users are out of the Sage 300
- Copy the downloaded file to a temporary folder on the server where Sage 300 programs are installed
- Right-click on the .exe file, and select “Run as Administrator” to start installing the tax update
- If Sage 300 programs are installed locally on each workstation, perform step 5 and 6 on each workstation
- Copy the downloaded file to a temporary folder on the workstation where the Sage 300 programs are installed locally
- Right-click on the .exe file, and select “Run as Administrator” to start installing the tax update
D. Activate
- Log into the database that the new tax update is suppose to be activated
- Go to Administrative Services
- Double click on Data activation
- Select the appropriate tax update to activate
- Click on Activate
- Close the Activation screen
