How to confirm inventory quantity is in balance for an item

Balance inventory

Resolution 

  • Compare three inventory reports:
    • Inventory Stock Status Report
    • Inventory Valuation Report
    • Inventory Detail Transaction Report
  1. Open InventoryManagementReportsInventory Stock Status Report
    • Uncheck, Print Zero Balances
    • Check, Warehouse Detail
    • Select, Item Code
    • Select, Warehouse
    • Click, Preview
    • Go to Last Pageof report
    • Note the Warehouse Quantity On Hand
  2. Open InventoryManagementReportsInventory Valuation Report
    • Uncheck, Print Zero Quantity Cost Tiers
    • Print Zero Balances, No
    • Select, ItemCode
    • Select, Warehouse
    • Click, Preview
    • Go to LastPage of report
    • Note the Item Warehouse Total for Quantity On Hand
  3. Open InventoryManagementReportsInventory Detail Transaction Report
    • Selection Criteria, ByDate
    • Starting Date, 01/01/1900
    • Ending Date, 12/31/9999
    • Check, Print Lot/Serial Information
    • Select, Item Code
    • Select, Warehouse
    • Click, Preview
    • Go to LastPage of report
    • Note the Quantity Detail Total
  4. Compare the three total quantities
    • If the quantities are out of balance, run the balancing utility
    • In Sage 100 ERP Launcher, click, Fileand select Run
    • Run the IM Clear Utilities (see attached article 20946)
    • Type, *utl
    • Select, BalanceInventory Quantity and Cost
    • Click, OK
    • Answer Yes to ALL update questions
  5. Recalculate Item History:
    • Open Inventory Management, Utilities, Recalculate Item History
