Error: "VI_IMPORTPRESELECT_UI"

Summary

Error: “VI_IMPORTPRESELECT_UI” when opening Import Job Maintenance in Sage 100 Error: “VI_EXPORTPRESELECT_UI” when opening Export Job Maintenance in Sage 100. Note: This may be preceded by “V/I Conversion to x.xx . Searching for obsolete jobs…” where x.xx is the version of Sage 100 (example: 5.40 for Sage 100 2017).

Cause

  • A blank record in either “..\MAS90\VI\VI1job.soa” or “..\MAS90\VI\VI2job.soa
  • “..\MAS90\MAS_System\VI_Options.m4t” contains an old version
  • Modules are not activated

Resolution

CAUTION: These steps require knowledge of database engines and application databases (DBs) used by your Sage product (including Microsoft/Transact SQL, Pervasive SQL, or MySQL, etc.). Customer Support is not responsible for assisting with these steps and cannot be responsible for errors resulting from changes to the database engine or DBs. Before making changes, backup all system and application DBs required for a full restore. Contact an authorized business partner or DB administrator for assistance.

Prior to attempting these steps, make a backup of the MAS90/VI folder:

  • Open Modules, Library Master, Utilities, Data File Display and Maintenance
  • Browse to the MAS90/VI folder
  • Select the VI1job.soa file
  • Select the Key Scan Lookup and visually look for blank records at the beginning of the file
  • Select the blank record(s) and click Delete to remove them
  • Repeat this for VI2job.soa
  • Open Modules, Visual Integrator, Main, Import Job Maintenance
  • Verify the task opens with no errors

Verify modules are activated and converted to current version

  1. Open Library Master, Main, Company Maintenance
  2. Select Company Code
  3. Verify all the modules are listed and the Data Level is at the current version
    • Note: Visual Integrator will not be listed as a module, and that Is normal (as designed).

Verify “..\MAS90\MAS_System\VI_Options.m4t” has the correct version

  1. Open Library MasterUtilities menu, Data File Display and Maintenance
  2. Open the file ..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\VI_Options.M4T
  3. Click Edit button
  4. Verify DataVersion has correct version
  5. Select Field Number 3-DataVersion
  6. Enter correct version in Change
    • Note: 2021=7.0, 2020=6.2, 2019=6.1, 2018=6.0, 2017=5.4, 2016=5.3, 2015=5.2
