Error: "The lot serial number is invalid"

Another possible cause is if the Copy \ Paste feature is used to copy the serial number value from an Excel sheet into the serial distribution field in Sage 100, additional, special characters are also pasted in; which are hidden from view. When the serial number is reviewed in the file using data file display and maintenance, the special character displays either as a space or a strange character and can be removed to fix the record.
