Aatrix eFiling cannot connect to server

Description

Sage 100 Federal and State Tax Reporting is able to update forms and print forms but cannot connect to eFiling server to transmit information electronically. The eFiling server connection is supported by Aatrix (701-746-6814, see Aatrix web site for latest contact information).

Additionally, it is possible that you may get an authentication or server related error trying to eFile your information from Sage 100 Federal and State Tax Reporting.

It may be possible to access the eFiling web site in your browser and login to reset the authentication. (this worked for one customer who followed Aaatrix troubleshooting and still could not Send eFiling – logged into eFiling account site and authentiated, then successfuly completed eFiling process via Sage 100 Federal and State Tax Reporting forms).

Per Aatrix troubleshooting web site:

‘Session Creation Errors (such as: “An error occurred creating a new session: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurrd on a send.”) can be caused by Internet connection issues, the lack of Aatrix’s safe sites, or communication is being blocked by either firewall or security software. For a list of Aatrix’s sage sites and technical information, please go to Aatrix Software Requirements site for help troubleshooting your system.’

Cause

Per the Aatrix Internet Connection Issues web page:

Aatrix Forms requires an Internet connection for two (2) reasons:

  • Updating of the Forms and Executables.
  • Electronic Filing (eFiling) of the Forms.

Either of these two operations can report an Internet Connection problem. The vast majority of these problems are a result of problems communicating through an Internet Firewall or an Internet Proxy Server.

Resolution

The eFiling server connection is supported by Aatrix (701-746-6814, see Aatrix web site for latest contact information).

Per the Aatrix Connection Issues web page related to eFiling:

Firewalls often need to have access allowed through specific ports. The Aatrix eFiling component uses secure HTTPS protocol over port 443 to access the site – https://efile.aatrix.com

Sometimes, they have a tighter restriction and only allow access on these ports to specific domains. By allowing access to aatrix.com they will allow both updates and eFiling.

Occasionally the restrictions are even tighter and only allow access to these ports by specific programs.

For eFiling & web service connections, allow the following files to run using HTTPS on port 443 to https://efile.aatrix.com,
https://efileserver.aatrix.com, https://efilereceiver.aatrix.com, and https://w2status.aatrix.com.

Internet Explorer is an unsupported browser. Try using a Chromium browser such as Edge or Chrome. Review the settings for TLS 1.2 as these may be required.
