How to add a record for the kitting (master) item on Sage 300 Inventory Control
Steps:
- Open Inventory Control > I/C Items and Price Lists > Kitting Items.
- In the Item Number field, use the Finder to select the item number for the kitting item, or type the code.
- In the Kitting Number field, enter a kitting number, and then click the Go button to activate the rest of the fields on the screen. The kitting number identifies a list of components. You can have as many component lists as you need to accommodate alternative or substitute component items.
- Enter a description for the kit.
- If you want to use this kit record as the default for setting up kitting items, select Use as Default.
- Enter a comment (optional).
- In the table, for each component item:
- Use the Finder to select the component item number.
- Enter the quantity and the unit of measure for the quantity.
- Enter a unit cost, if allowed (for example, if the item has a user-specified cost).
- When you have finished adding component items, click Add.
