How to Copy Sage 100 Master Files from Another Company

Resolution

You can copy master files for General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Inventory Management (IM).

 CAUTION: Back up all data files before starting. 

  1. Create the new company and activate the required modules.
  2. Open Common Information, Setup, then Common Information Options and complete the setup wizard.
  3. Ensure Allow Entry of Expanded Item Codes settings match between source and new company.
  4. Run setup wizards for ARAP, or IM if copying data into these modules.
  5. Match these settings between companies:
    • Accounts Receivable OptionsAccounts Receivable DivisionsAllow Entry of Expanded Customer Numbers
    • Accounts Payable OptionsAccounts Payable Divisions
  6. If you haven’t set up the General Ledger, open General Ledger, Setup, General Ledger Options.
  7. Click Yes when prompted to set up the module.
  8. In the General Ledger Setup Wizard, click Next. Select Create the Account Structure and Copy From Another Company. Continue to click Next through defaults and click Finish.
  9. Use the SVTRNA utility to copy ARAP, and IM master files:
    • Access the target Company Code.
    • Select File, Run, enter SVTRNA in the Program field.
    • Enter the source Company Code in the Copy from Company field.
    • Select the module to copy.
