Account Start Date Invalid or Account End Date Invalid in Sage 100

Description

A GL account with an EFFECTIVE DATE that is out of range was found.

In the General Ledger, one or more accounts have a start date that is later than the posting date. One or more GL Accounts have dates that are outside the date range being updated.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, change or remove the start or end dates.

  1. Expand General Ledger, MainAccount Maintenance.
  2. Select the account referenced in the error message.
  3. In the End Date field, change or remove the date.
    • Note: If the start and/or end dates are valid, then edit the applicable journal and change the G/L account number
  4. Click Accept.
  5. Update the Journal.

If the error persists, remove the start date from the main account:

  1. Expand General Ledger, Setup, Main Account Maintenance.
  2. In the Main Account field, select the applicable account.
  3. In the Start Date field, remove the date.
    • Note: If the start and/or end dates are valid then edit the applicable journal and change the G/L account number
  4. Click Accept.
  5. Update the Journal.
