Sage 100 Inventory Trial Balance Report has no beginning balances
Resolution
- Go to Inventory Management, Reports, Trial Balance Write down the item number with a zero beginning balance that you believe should have one.
- Go to Inventory Management, Reports, Detail Inventory Transaction Report and pull up the same item to verify it had transactions.
- Go to Library Master, Utilities, Data File Display and Maintenance, Mas_XXX (Where XXX = Company Code), IMXXX (Where XXX = Company Code), IM_PeriodPostingHistory.m4t and look up the item code.
- Verify the item has a record that is correct. There should be a period one record that has the beginning balance and the beginning balance dollar amount and then a record that records the transaction quantities only. This record is most likely missing.
- If this record is missing,
- Get everyone out of the system, Make a back up of your Data.
- Go to Inventory Management, Utilities, Recalculate Item History and run the utility.
- Now the file has been recreated and your trial balance should be correct.
