How to create a new purchase order from one or more existing POs on Sage 300

Steps:

  1.  Open Purchase Orders > P/O Transactions > Copy Purchase Orders.
  2. In the From Vendor Number field, type the code for the vendor whose purchase order details you want to copy for the new PO.
  3. In the To Vendor Number field, type the code for the vendor for whom you are creating the new purchase order, or use the Finder or the navigation buttons to select it.
  4. In the From PO Number and To PO Number fields, specify the range of existing orders (for the From Vendor) to use as the basis for the new purchase order.
  5. The tax group for the To Vendor appears as the default in the Tax Group field, but you can change it.
  6. In the PO Type field, select the type of purchase order to copy.
  7. If you are copying job-related purchase orders, select the Job Related option.
  8. If you want to copy costs from the original purchase orders to the new purchase order, select the Use PO Cost option. (This choice is available only if both vendors use the same currency, and you use Project and Job Costing.)
  9. Click the Go button to add the details from the existing purchase orders to the new order.
  10. In the PO Number field, type a purchase order number or accept the ***New*** entry to let the program assign the next number in the purchase order number sequence.
  11. In the PO Date field, enter the date for the purchase order. The program displays the session date as the default PO date.
  12. If you need to put the new purchase order on hold, select the On Hold option.
  13. Enter a description and a reference for the PO.
  14. Use the detail table on the Copy POs tab to edit the details as you require.  To delete a detail line, select it on the table, and then press the Delete key.
  15. When you have finished editing information for the purchase order, click the Create button to generate the PO.  You can then view, edit, and post the order using the Purchase Order Entry screen.
