Unable to export data to Microsoft Access Database (.accdb) from Business Insights Explorer

Resolution

There are 2 required components:

  1. An updated Sage 100 exapp.exe program which is included on Sage 100 2015 and higher.
    If running a version prior to Sage 100 2015, replace
    • your existing C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Sage\Common Components\exapp.exe with the one attached to this article on each Sage 100 ERP Workstation that will export from Business Insights Explorer.
  2. The 32-bit version of the Access Database Engine
    • Note: This is the version that is required for Sage 100 Business Insights Explorer. This is required even if using 64-bit Office
    • This can be downloaded and installed using the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255
    • Click download
    • Select AccessDatabaseEngine.exe (32-bit version of driver) . Do not install AccessDatabaseEngine_X64.exe
    • Click Next
    • If asked to Save or Run, select Run and follow the installation instructions.
    • If nothing happens, browse to Downloads folder and double-click AccessDatabaseEngine.exe

Note: If the x64 version of the Access database engine is installed you will not be able to install the 32-bit version of the Access database engine required for Sage 100 Business Insights Explorer. To resolve, uninstall the 64-bit (x64) version via Control Panel, Programs and Features then install the 32-bit version of the database engine.
