Unable to enter Beginning date

Description

• Unable to enter Beginning date
• Beginning date grayed out
• Cannot force depreciation

Cause

• The Enable Begin Fields is set to No.
• The depreciation method is NO or OC

Resolution

Option 1: Turn on Enable Begin Fields

1. Go to File, Edit Company.
2. On the Book Defaults tab for each book, changed the Enable Begin Fields from No to Yes, Click OK to save the changes.
3. In the Asset Detail view, the Beginning field will not be available.

Option 2: Check the depreciation method

• If the depreciation method is NO or OC, the BEG date field will be grayed out
