What is Directed Picking?
With Directed Picking, the items are sorted by location. By simply following the picking order on the device, the user is guided to pick the items in order as they traverse the warehouse. More than one bin location may be used when DSD / ScanForce Multi-Bin Management is installed.
You Need It If:
- Workers are not efficiently routed through the warehouse when picking orders
- Warehouse orders are not being picked quick enough
- Pickers are getting in each other’s way while walking the warehouse
- Order picking and shipping errors are frequently occurring
Key Benefits
- Provide the user with a roadmap for picking each order
- Clearly displays each line items, along with item description, quantity, lot/serial numbers, and bin location
- More than one bin location may be used
- Faster and more convenient than using the standard item lookup
How it Works
The mobile device displays items and locations to pick. The locations are sorted on the handheld affording the user the luxury of walking the warehouse one time to pick an order.
Locations are sorted and displayed on the mobile device.
Users can walk one time to pick up an order as quickly and efficiently as possible.
