Resolution
Note:
- Beginning with Release 2015, Crystal Reports is no longer accessible from within Sage 50 – US Edition
- Custom Crystal Reports, reports can still be used with Sage 50, but must be opened from the Crystal Reports application
- Upgrading to Release 2015 does not remove the Crystal Report files (.RPT files) from your company directory
- To use customizable reports within Sage 50, it is recommended to utilize Sage 50 Intelligence Reporting
Section I: Install Sage 50 Data Functions
- Open your company
- Select, Maintain, Users, Setup Security
- Select the Data Access/ Crystal Reports tab
- Select Install Sage 50 Data Functions
- Select OK on the confirmation message
- Under Access from Outside Sage 50, select With the following login information
- The user name ‘Peachtree’ cannot be changed
- Select Change
- Enter the desired New password. This password must be exactly 7 characters long and include a number
- Select OK
- Select Close
Section II: Set up Crystal Reports Connection
- Open Crystal Reports Designer
- Select Blank Report
- Expand Create New Connection
- Expand OLE DB (ADO)
- Check Use Data Link File
- Select Browse button at the end of the Microsoft Data Link File box
- Browse to your company directory, select CrystalReports.udl, and then click OK
- Select Next
- Enter User ID (Peachtree), and then enter your Password
- Select Finish
- Select Update
Section III: Connecting Sage 50 company data to Crystal Reports
- If company data is still not populating in the report, open up custom report in crystal reports.
- Browse to Database, Database Expert
- Browse out the OLE DB (ADO) Connection setup earlier and select it
- Check Use Data Link File, and then browse out to location of CrystalReports.udl file in Microsoft Data Link File
- Uncheck Use Data Link File, and then select Pervasive PSQL OLE DB Provider under Provider
- Select Next, and enter password for user ID; click Next and then Finish
- Verify that custom crystal report loads up data from company in Sage 50
