Cause

BIGenerator Excel com add-in was not installed properly or user does not have sufficient permissions

Resolution

  1. Verify you can generate a NON Report Designer Report without error (i.e. GL Transactions Detail report)
  2. Open Excel and verify if BIGenerator Com Add-in and Report Designer Add-ins are listed in Excel Options, see related article below, BI Tools is missing when running a Report Designer report

If you are not able to add the BIGenerator Com Add-in, please do the following:

  1. Export any custom reports, see related article below, How to Import and Export Reports in Sage Intelligence
  2. Close Excel and Sage Intelligence
  3. Using Add/Remove programs, uninstall Sage Intelligence and if applicable also uninstall Report Designer Add-in and any Sage Intelligence hot fixes/patches, follow additional steps in related article below, How to do a clean uninstall of Sage 100 Intelligence
  4. Install appropriate version of Sage 100 Intelligence. If using Windows 7, right click on .exe file and select to Run as Administrator
    • o Note: The first time you open Report Manager, you will be prompted to select new repository folder and register Sage Intelligence using License Manager. See related article below, How to Register Sage Intelligence.
  5. After successfully registering Sage Intelligence, launch Report Manager
  6. Confirm you can successfully run any canned Financials report.
  7. Close out of Excel
  8. Run Report Designer report

If running Sage 100, as a published application from a Citrix server, Excel must be launched at least once for each user; as well as, users must have full control permissions to Microsoft Office folder. Please try generating the GL Transactions Detail report FIRST then close Excel and run a Report Designer report.
Note: Try running Sage 100 as Administrator. Right-click the Sage 100 shortcut, select Run as Administrator.

If error still exists;

  1. Log into machine with the local “Administrator” account
  2.  Verify you can successfully run report without error.
  3.  In Excel and verify the BIGenerator Com Add-in is listed in Excel Options
  4. If the “Adminstrator” account has the BI Tools menu available in Excel and other users on same machine do not, please try the following:

  1. Login as User
  2. UsingAdd/Remove Programs, uninstallSage 100 ERP Workstation Setup
  3. Browse to the ...\MAS90\Wksetupfolder andright clickonAutorun.exeand select to Run as Administrator
  4. Select to Install Sage 100 ERP Workstation
  5. Proceed through installation wizard

  1. Log in as Administrator, click Start menu, in run field type regedit and press ENTER
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > Excel > Addins > BIGenerator
  3. Right click on BIGenerator and select Export
  4. Log into same machine as a user getting error,click Start menu, in run field type regedit and press ENTER
  5. Click File, Import
  6. Select the registry file you exported from other machine and click Open
  7. Verify BI Generator is listed under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > Excel > Addins folder
