How to setup Windows Authentication for Sage 300

Summary

Windows authentication is one of three possible authentication methods in Sage 300. Sage 300, Windows Authentication, or Both.

Resolution

How to setup:

  1. Authentication is on a per user basis, there is not globally enabled function.
  2. Open Administrative services, select Users, find the user to enable authentication.
  3. In the authentication dropdown, select Windows.
  4. Windows Domain field will activate, enter in domain name. Sage 300 does not accept FQDN, but uses NTLM. For example if your domain is crmerp.local, you would enter in CRMERP
  5. In Windows User Name enter in logon name, this would not be an email address nor a combination of domain and user. For example User@crmerp.local would be entered in as USER
  6. When user launches Sage 300 they will now select windows authentication on login screen.
