How to Set Up Security Groups in Sage 300

  1. Log into Sage 300
  2. Go to the Administrative Services module
  3. Click on the Security Groups icon.

  4. Enter a unique group ID and a description.
    1. The group ID can be up to eight characters (letters from A to Z and digits from 0 to 9).
    2. Select the tasks the security group can perform.
    3. To select every task in the list, click Select All.
    4. To remove a task that has already been selected, click the check box to clear it.
    5. To remove all tasks, click the Remove All button. 
  5. Click Add.
  6. Repeat these steps for each application.
  7. Now, you can assign users to these security groups, as described in the next section.

How to Assign the Security Groups to the Sage 300 User

  1. Log into Sage 300
  2. Go to the Administrative Services module
  3. Click on the Security Groups icon. 
  4. Select the User ID
  5. For each application to which you want to allow access for this user
    1. Double-click the Group ID field to display a Finder button.
    2. Click the button to display security groups defined for the application.
    3. Select a security group from the list.
  6. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each user.
  7. When you have finished assigning security groups to all users, click Close.
