How to add units of measure to an item record on Sage 300 Inventory Control

Steps:

  1.  Open the I/C Items screen or the I/C Items Wizard.  Do one of the following:
    • Open Inventory Control > I/C Items and Price Lists > Items.
    • Open Inventory Control > I/C Items and Price Lists > Items Wizard.
  2. If you are adding a new item, see “Adding Inventory Items Using the Items Wizard” (page 96).  If you adding a unit of measure for an existing item:
    1. If using the Items Wizard:
      • Click Next to move to the first data entry Wizard page.
      • Enter the item number or select the item number from the Finder.
      • Click Next to move to the page containing units of measure.
        • If using the I/C Items screen:
          • Enter the item number, or select the item number from the Finder.
          • Click the Units tab.
    2. Click a line in the Units of Measure table, and then press the Insert key to start a new line.  Unit of Measure. Click the Finder in the column heading to select from the list of all units of measure defined for Inventory Control.  If you allow undefined units of measure, you can enter the UOM and tab directly to the conversion factor column.  Conversion Factor. If necessary, change the default factor for converting this unit to the item stocking unit.  Stocking Unit of Measure. If you are adding the stocking unit of measure, note that:
      • The conversion unit must be “1.”
      • If another item is currently selected as the stocking unit of measure, you must double-click in the Stocking UOM column for that item to set it to “No” before you can set the new UOM to “Yes.”
    3. Click Save when you have finished adding units of measure.  If using the Items Wizard, click Next until the Done button appears, and then click Done to save the changes.
