How to Add or Modify a Salesperson Record in Accounts Receivable for Sage 300
Before You Start
- If you are adding a salesperson record:
- Decide on the salesperson code.
- If you want to add prior year statistics for your sales staff, on the A/R Options screen, select the Allow Edit of Statistics option for salespersons.
- Post batches containing salesperson codes you want to delete, or change the salespersons for the transactions.
To add a salesperson record:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Salespersons.
- In the Salesperson Code field, enter a new code to identify the salesperson, and then press Tab.
- Enter the salesperson’s name as you want it to appear on Accounts Receivable screens and reports.
- In the Employee Number field, enter the employee number assigned to the salesperson in your company’s payroll records. This is an optional field, so you can leave it blank or enter other information in it.
- In the Annual Sales Target field, enter the sales target or quota for the salesperson in the current year. If you do not assign sales targets, you can leave this field showing zeroes.
- If necessary, add statistics for the salesperson for prior periods.
Enter the year and period for which you want to enter statistics, and then for each transaction type:- In the Amount field, enter the total amount processed for the salesperson during the selected year and period.
- In the Count field, enter the total number processed for the salesperson during the selected period.
- Click Add.
To edit a salesperson record:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Salespersons.
- In the Salesperson Code field, enter the code for the salesperson record you want to change.
- Make your changes.
Note: If you make a salesperson code inactive, you can no longer assign it to customer records or transactions. - Click Save.
To delete a salesperson record:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Salespersons.
- In the Salesperson Code field, enter the code for the salesperson record you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
After adding or modifying a salesperson record
- Print and file the Salespersons report.
- Update the Sales Split tab of the A/R Customers screen for customers that use salesperson information you changed or records you deleted.
- Edit any unposted documents using the A/R Invoice Entry screen to substitute other salesperson codes for the salesperson records you deleted.
