How to Add or Modify a Billing Cycle in Accounts Receivable for Sage 300
Before You Start
- Decide on a code for each new billing cycle you want to add.
- If you are deleting a billing cycle, make sure it is not assigned to any customer records (including customer groups, national accounts, and customers). If you want to delete a billing cycle that is assigned to a customer record, first assign a different billing cycle to the customer group, national account, or customer, or delete those records also.
To add a billing cycle:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Billing Cycles.
- Enter a code to identify the billing cycle, and then enter a description for the billing cycle.
- In the remaining fields, enter the frequency of the billing cycle (in days), the “remit to” person, and the address to which customers should direct their payments.
- Click Add.
To edit billing cycle:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Billing Cycles.
- Enter the code for the billing cycle you want to change.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save.
To delete in billing cycle:
- Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Setup > Billing Cycles.
- Enter the code for the billing cycle you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
After adding or modifying a billing cycle
- Print and file the Billing Cycles report. For more information, see “Printing the A/R Billing Cycles Report” (page 326).
- If you changed the billing cycle codes assigned to customers, groups, or national accounts, you may also want to print new copies of the Customer List, Customer Group List, and National Account List for the records you changed. For more information, see:
- “Printing a List of Customers” (page 300)
- “Printing the A/R Customer Group List Report” (page 296)
- “Printing the A/R National Accounts Report” (page 318)
