How to Add, Edit, and Delete an Adjustment Batch in Accounts Receivable for Sage 300

To create an adjustment batch using the Adjustment Batch List screen:

  1. Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Transactions > Adjustment Batch List.
  2. On the Adjustment Batch List, click the New button to create a new batch.
  3. Type a description and a date for the batch.

To create an adjustment batch using the A/R Adjustment Entry screen:

  1. Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Transactions > Adjustment Entry.
  2. Click the New button beside the Batch Number field.
  3. Enter a date for the new batch, or accept the session date in the field.
  4. Enter a batch description.
  5. Click Save.

To open an existing adjustment batch for editing:

  1. Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Transactions > Adjustment Batch List.
  2. If there is a large number of adjustment batches, type the number of the batch you want to edit in the Starting Batch Number field, or choose the batch from the Finder.
    Tip: If you have very few adjustment batches, skip this step.
  3. Highlight the batch you want to open, then click Open.

To delete an open batch:

  1. Open Accounts Receivable > A/R Transactions > Adjustment Batch List.
  2. Type the batch number or use the Finder to display a list of existing batches, and then select the batch you want to delete.
  3. Click the Delete button.
  4. If you see a message asking you to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
    All transactions in the batch are deleted and the batch is listed as deleted on the A/R Batch Status report. You cannot reuse the batch number.

After adding or opening an adjustment batch

  • You can edit open batches. You cannot edit batches that have Ready To Post, Posted, or Deleted status.
  • Enter adjustments following the instructions in “Adjusting a Posted Transaction” 
  • Post the adjustment batch using the instructions in “Posting an Adjustment Batch” 
  • If you do not delete posted batches, you can view them on the A/R Adjustment Batch List screen.
